Nancy Irene (Macak) Orasco, 83 passed peacefully Friday, January 9th in Plainfield Illinois. Nancy was born August 1st, 1942 to Paul and Irene (Kuchar) Macak. She was vibrant and friendly. She shared her childhood with 3 sisters and a brother. She always had a great smile, laugh and loved to talk! She grew up in Joliet and graduated from Joliet Central, where she had many friends and earned a letter playing basketball. Basketball was one of the many things that she excelled in. She made beautiful cakes, with many seeking her talents for special occasions. She loved to crochet, sew, garden, bowl, loved to line dance, take walks, fish, bike ride and spend time with her family. She worked at Lorraine's in Joliet for many years and finished her career at Osco Drug in the photo department.
She married Raymond Carlos "Chuck" Orasco in 1960, they were married for 44 years and had 3 wonderful children together. Nancy was a great mom who spent time with her children cooking, baking, gardening, even teaching them to play sports. She was a friend to everyone and was always very supportive of others. She loved to have a good time and she opened her house to many gatherings for friends and family alike.
Her grandchildren and great grandchildren will remember special times decorating cookies, baking and helping to decorate her house. She loved nature walks, feeding the birds and spending time outside.
Nancy is survived by her 3 children, Gina (Rob) Rothlisberger of Shorewood IL, Greg (Regina) Orasco of Shorewood IL,, and Ronda Orasco of Joliet IL, six grandchildren, Jay Rodriguez, Cassie (Jose) Razo, Andrew Orasco, Brendon Rothlisberger, Morgan Orasco, and Michael Knapik and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Carol (Mel) Brown of Phoenix Az, Ardy Wike of Joliet IL, Dave (Carmella) Macak of Joliet IL and Paula Tidwell of Selmer Tennessee, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents Paul and Irene (Kuchar) Macak and brother in laws Don Wike and Chuck Tidwell.
Nancy will be cremated and we will celebrate a life well-lived and a lady well loved on Saturday, January 24th from 1-3 at Carlson Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home 2320 Black Road Joliet Illinois. For those who would like to participate in a sharing of memories, song and prayer, please join us at 2:30.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Will County Forest Preserve so that we can preserve the things she loved for the next generations to enjoy.
