Passed away at Silver Cross Hospital, Wednesday, September 29, 2021. Age 86 years.
Survived by his wife Luz Morales (nee Serrato). A son Nick (Liza-deceased) Morales, four daughters Luci (Bryon Booker) Serrato, Alicia (Pedro Aguilera) Morales, Lupe (Art) Pinon and Veronica (Ruben) Aguilera. Thirteen grandchildren Daniel (Lauren) Herrera, Mauricio (Amanda) Herrera, Katherine Colome, Carlos (Tatiana) Morales, Adrian (Jazmin) Morales, Nicolas Morales, Frankie Morales, Alex (Jocelin) Grassity, Cassandra Grassity, Tania Pinon, Enrique Pinon, Vinny Aguilera and Samantha Aguilera. Seven great-grandchildren. Son-in-law Luis Grassity. Three sisters Carmen Morales, Juana Flores and Sr. Socorro Morales.
Preceded in death by a daughter Josefina Grassity (2012), his parents Jose and Marina Morales. Two brothers Inocencio and Guadalupe, three sisters Luz, Oliva and Maria de Jesus.
Nicolas was born April 28, 1935 in Mexico, where he farmed on his family farm until relocating to Joliet. Nicolas retired from the E.J. & E. Railroad in 1997. Member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Nicolas enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Tuesday, October 5th at 10:30 A.M. to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 11:00 A.M. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Monday from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M..
