Paul E. Alphin

Of Morris, formerly of Joliet, Paul passed away at Lightways Hospice Home on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the age of 82.

Paul was born in Joliet on June 14, 1942, to Terrell and Virginia (nee Holland) Alphin. He graduated from Joliet Township High School, Class of 1960. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Paul served as a Crew Chief aboard a Huey helicopter in Vietnam, where he was decorated with the Air Medal for acts of heroism and meritorious achievement while in flight.

After his military service, Paul worked for 35 years as a member of Operators Local #150 before retiring. He was also a dedicated 37-year member of the Plainfield Masonic Lodge #536 A.F. & A.M.

An avid outdoorsman, Paul found great joy in hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature. Whether on the water or in the woods, he was happiest when surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors.

Paul is survived by his son Eric Alphin, his daughter Amanda (Curt) Trizzino and his grandson Carter Trizzino.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Toni Alexander.

Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Thursday, April 10th at 11:00 A.M. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 10th from 9:00 A.M. until time of services.
