Of New Lenox, passed away peacefully at his home, Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Age 72 years. Survived by his loving wife of 48 years Patricia Rackouski (nee Brown), his brother Brian Rackouski, his brother and sister-in-law Ray and Kathy Jordan. Four nieces and nephews Maggie and Paul Rackouski and Alexis and Cody Jordan. Fur dad to Mosby. Preceded in death by his parents Adam and Dorothy (nee Schmid) Rackouski. Rex graduated from Providence Catholic High School Class of 1967 and Lewis University in 1971. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1972-75. Rex enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, watching his favorite teams the Green Bay Packers, Boston Celtics and Chicago White Sox. Rex was a terrific baker, candy maker and playing with his fur buddy Mosby. His family would like to thank Dr. Shayan Rayani at University of Chicago, Silver Cross Hospital, Lightways Hospice, New Lenox Fire Department and caregivers Natalie, Colleen, Kathy and Cody for all of the care, compassion and support they have given to Rex. Private family funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorial to American Cancer Society, New Beginnings Shelter or Joliet Area Historical Museum will be appreciated.
