Robert W.
Campbell "Bob"
February 1, 1954 – March 28, 2023
Passed away peacefully at his residence after a courageous and valiant battle with esophageal cancer, Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at the age of 69 years.
Bob was a devoted husband to his wife of 25 years Alba Campbell (nee Castro). Survived by his sister Barb Campbell of Seattle, WA.
Preceded in death by his parents Peter F. Campbell (1975) and Adele V. Campbell (nee Osiecki) (2003).
Bob was born February 1, 1954 in Yardley, PA. Graduate of Joliet West High School in 1972 and received his degree in Cinema and Photography from Southern Illinois University in 1976. He was a member of the Professional Photographers of America, Inc. Bob was the owner of Campbell Fine Portraiture in Joliet and enjoyed the reputation as Joliet and Will County's finest and most prolific photographer specializing in portraiture of families, businesses and outdoor scenes. He combined a flair for the artistic while capturing the essence of the assignment. It was not uncommon for Bob to have taken photographs of families starting in the preschool years continuing all the way through the weddings and grandchildren of the next generations. In recent years Bob's business branched out to the northern and western suburbs where he was equally successful. His legacy will continue to live on through his beautiful photography and the memories he created with those who knew him. Bob was an accomplished musician and in 2021 produced his own CD of music entitled "Mr. Nostalgia." Bob was also an outstanding baseball player, leading the Joliet West Tigers in batting average in 1972 and later participating in the Will County Old Timers League in the 1980's and 1990's.
