Robert Gregory Childers Age 61, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center from complications of throat cancer. Survived by his four sons Jeffery Eric Childers, Joseph Cary Steven (Jessica) Childers, Sean Robert (Toni) Childers and Austin Paul Childers; one brother Mark (Cindy) Childers; two grandchildren Ollie Jay Childers and Jack Robert Gregory Childers and a new grandchild due in September. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Virginia (Schutz) Childers and John Lennon and George Harrison. At various times a train engineer for EJ&E Railroad and a chemical operator for the NutraSweet Company. Robert's only true passion was his family. He lived for his sons and grandchildren. A Memorial Visitation and Service will be held at his home congregation, the Joliet Church of Christ, 23 Margaret Street, Joliet on Saturday, May 27, 2017 beginning at 1:00 pm until time of services at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.
