Rodney Dean Pinkston Sr.
Age 85, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home after a brief illness.
Born in DeKalb, Illinois on January 28, 1933. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy. Employed in sales for World Supply Corp. for many years and later by CarQuest Auto Parts. Member and Past Master of the Matteson Lodge # 175 AF & AM.
He was a devoted family man and a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Donna C. Pinkston (nee Grossklaus) (July 3, 2018); his parents, Granville and Myrtle (nee Barr) Pinkston; one sister, Evelyn (late William) Radich and two brothers, Donald and James Pinkston.
Survived by his daughter, Lin C. (James) Nelson of Shorewood; his son, Rodney D. Pinkston Jr. of Columbus, Ohio; his cherished granddaughter, Jamie L. Nelson; his sisters-in-law, June E. (late Clyde) Firestein, Margaret (late Donald) Pinkston and Nancy (late James) Pinkston; many beloved nieces and nephews also survive.

Per his wishes, cremation rites were accorded and inurnment of both Rodney and Donna will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date.
