Passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side, Wednesday, February 17, 2016. Age 55. Survived by his loving wife of 16 years Jacqui (nee Baldwin) Slaughter, five sons Jon (15), Noah (12), and Marcus (8) Slaughter, Theron Greene and Theo Calvert. His sister Marilyn (Don) Holmes and two brothers Ken and Steve (Vickie) Slaughter. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by his parents Theron and Lois (nee Duffy) Slaughter and a sister Virginia Slaughter. Rodney was a loving husband and father. His greatest joy was spending time with his sons. He enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, painting and woodworking. He was an avid Nascar and Chicago Cub fan. Lying in state at Hope United Methodist Church, Monday, February 22, 2016 from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM. Memorials in Rodney's name to the Pheo Para Troopers, PO Box 140703, Howard Beach, NY, 11414 will be appreciated. Visitation Sunday from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M.
