Ronald E. Weber
July 3, 1945 – October 29, 2026
Age 81, of Channahon, formerly of Joliet, passed away on October 29, 2026, surrounded by his family. Ron attended Joliet Central High School and will be remembered as a hardworking, quiet man who devoted his life to providing for his family and building memories with the people he loved.
Ron’s favorite times in his life revolved around sports. He treasured playing softball with Pisut Funeral Home in the late 1960’s & early 1970’s, he bowled at Washington Lanes & Lockport Lanes until the late 1980’s, and he coached many successful teams and kids at Belmont Little League (1974 to 1985). He played softball again in the early 1990’s with his two sons. And he took great pride in watching his daughters compete in Pom competitions. Later in life, he cherished watching his grandchildren participate in sports. Ron looked forward to playing golf with his buddies during the summer time and he even had a hole-in-one back in 2023 at the age of 78. And he always loved watching his Cubbies and Bears. At home, he cherished the simple things in life… taking care of his yard and gardens, fishing, feeding the birds, watching the deer roam his property and spending quality time with his special cats Hunter and Stripes.
Ron is survived by his partner Sherry Rojo and his former wife Susan Weber. His five children include Timothy (Susan) Weber, Robin DuFrain, David Weber, Lisa Shannon (fiancé Michael), and Amy (Billy) Sproull. Also survived by his sister Ruth Ann (George) Lord. He was the proud grandfather of Matthew (Kelly) Stach, Kristin (Mike) Cruson, Kyle (Anna) Stach, Kendall Weber, Keegan (Callen) Weber, Mya Shannon, Tessa Shannon, Kian Shannon, Tyler Sproull and Max Sproull. In addition, Ron was the proud great-grandfather to Isla and Ivy Stach, Aleah, Colton, Michaela, Remington and MiKenzie Cruson.
Ron was preceded in death by his father Raymond Weber, his mother Juanita Weber, his sister Linda Daniel, his brother Kenneth Weber, his daughter-in-law Lisa Weber and his son-in-law Barry DuFrain.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful team at Lightways Hospice for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they provided to Ron and his family during his final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Lightways Hospice in Ron’s memory.
