Ruben Martinez Gallegos – passed away peacefully Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Amita St. Joseph Medical Center. Age 84 years.
Ruben was a very proud member of Laborers Local 75 for over 50 years.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years Socorro (Favela) Martinez, his loving children Minerva (Hector) Acevedo, Ruben (Eva) Martinez Jr. and Samuel (Sandra) Martinez; his grandchildren Giselle, Alexis, Vidaliz, Sammy, Jolie Martinez and Samantha Acevedo Martinez Favela, special great-granddaughter Joette Villa and his sisters Paula M. Roper and Minerva Flores. Special nieces and nephews in Texas Eliciel Flores, Arturo Perez, Juan Manuel Perez, Rosa Perez and Jesus Perez. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Ruben was a hard worker and dedicated man. He helped many people that came from Mexico, showing true kindness to others. His family came first, having great pride in his children and grandchildren; enjoying spending time with them was very special to him. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and love for his family.
Funeral Services will be held from Carlson Holmquist Sayles Funeral Home and Crematory, 2320 Black Road, Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 9:15 A.M. to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church at 10 A.M for a Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be Friday 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment Plainfield Township Cemetery.
All attending the visitation and funeral services will be requires to properly wear a facial mask and observe social distancing.
