Ruby R. Hernandez (nee Bryan)

Passed away peacefully at her residence with her family at her side, Thursday, March 27, 2025 at the age of 87 years.

Survived by her son James M. (DeeDee) Hernandez, two daughters Toni (Karl) Gawenda and JoAnn (Stanley) Weaver. Her grandchildren Luke, Amanda and Jessica Weaver, Max and Hannah Gawenda, James A., Joe and Jacob Hernandez. Several great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death her husband of 47 years Anthony "Tony" J. Hernandez (2006) and her parents Samuel R. and Fay (nee Bryan) Slagel.

Ruby was born in Joliet on January 15, 1938 and graduated from Joliet Township High School Class of 1956. She retired from the Will County Courthouse after 20 years and also the Joliet Renaissance Center.

Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Friday, April 11th at 11:00 A.M. Interment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, April 11th from 9:00 A.M. until time of services.
