Passed away at Rock Run Assisted Living, Sunday, October 30, 2022. Age 99 years.

Survived by her daughter Sherry L. Sayles, two grandsons Michael A. Sayles and Craig W. (Terri) Sayles. Four great-grandsons Nicholas A. Sayles, Michael C. Sayles, Blake W. Sayles and Cade R. Sayles. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband William F. Balog (2009), her son-in-law Robert A. Sayles (2013) and two brothers Richard Cameron and James Cameron.

Shirley was born April 21, 1923 to James B. and Dorothy M. (nee Baker) Cameron. In 1944 she married William Balog and enjoyed 65 years of camping and traveling together. Shirley was an avid quilter, always knitting and crocheting for family and friends. Shirley was a bank teller at First National Bank of Joliet and Joliet Federal Savings and Loan for many years. Member of Grace United Methodist Church since 1960.

Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Saturday, November 5th at 10:00 A.M. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Friday from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M.
