Stanley Gorenstein
Passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, at Silver Cross Hospital at the age of 96.
Stanley was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War. Following his military service, he spent many years as an over-the-road truck driver before retiring.
He is lovingly remembered by his son Daniel Gorenstein and daughter-in-law Donna Gorenstein. Two grandchildren Kimberly (Alan) Sasek and Jennifer (Brian) Kreklau and four great-grandchildren Grace Sasek, Milo Brown, Blake Gorenstein and Brooklynn Gorenstein.
Stanley was preceded in death by his beloved wife and the love of his life Helen Gorenstein (née Lapiene), his parents Martin Max Gorenstein and Lillian Gorenstein (née Davidson). His brother Jerome J. Gorenstein, his sister Phyllis Gorenstein and his beloved granddaughter Stephanie Gorenstein.
He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, especially his grandchildren, his years of hard work, and the life he lived with quiet strength and determination. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
Committal services will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, where full military honors will be rendered in recognition of his service to our country. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
