Suzanne C. Short 

Of Blue Island, passed away in Minooka, Monday, August 3, 2026 at the age of 83.

Survived by her children Sheryl Short, Brian Short, Anne (Ciprian) Magdas, Daniel (Ayako) Short, , and Pamela Mistro. Two grandsons Jaxon C. Magdas and John J. Mistro. Her two brothers-in-law Tom (Pat) Short, and Jim (Lori) Short. Two sisters-in-law Marlene (Tom) Kelly and Peggy (Dave) Erickson. Her niece Laura (Rick) Burgess. Also several nieces and nephews on the Short side.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years Robert C. Short (2022), her parents Emil and Loretta Figahs and two brothers John and Bob Figahs, her nephew Vince Figahs and her brother-in-law Terry (Jackie) Short.

Suzanne was born June 24, 1943 in Chicago. She retired from the Jewish United Fund in Chicago in 2007 as a public relations assistant. Suzanne's life and happiness revolved around the time she spent with family and especially her grandsons, who meant everything to her.

Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 12:00 P.M. Interment will be with her husband Robert at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, Tuesday, August 18th from 10:00 A.M. until time of services.
