Suzanne C. Short 

Of Blue Island, passed away in Minooka, Monday, August 3, 2026 at the age of 83.

Survived by her children Brian Short, Daniel (Ayako) Short, Sheryl Short, Anne (Ciprian) Magdas and Pamela Mistro. Two grandsons Jaxon C. Magdas and John J. Mistro. Her three brothers-in-law Tom (Pat) Short, Terry (Jackie) Short and Jim

(Lori) Short. Two sisters-in-law Marlene (Tom) Kelly and Peggy (Dave) Erickson. Also several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years Robert C. Short (2022), her parents Emil and Loretta Figahs and two brothers John and Bob Figahs.

Suzanne was born Jun 24, 1943 in Chicago. She retired from the Jewish United Fund in Chicago in 2007 as a public relations assistant. Suzanne’s life and happiness was the time she spent with family and her grandsons, especially watching their baseball games.

Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 12:00 P.M. Interment will be with her husband Robert at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, Tuesday, August 18th from 10:00 A.M. until time of services.
