Passed away at his residence, Thursday, May 1, 2014. Age 77 years. Survived by his wife of 53 years Lois R. Gleason (nee Betzwieser), their children Kelly (Steve) Widlowski, Mike (Anne) Gleason, Kathleen (Dave) Harvey and Tommy (Nora) Gleason. Seven grandchildren Zach, Emily and Nick Widlowski, Lauren and Katie Gleason, Matt (Liz) Harvey and Danny Harvey. A brother James Gleason. Preceded in death by his parents Thomas A. and Marie V. Gleason. Tom was born in Joliet, February 3, 1937. Graduate of Joliet Catholic High School Class of 1955 and Graduate of Bradley University in Peoria. Retired from St. Joseph Medical Center after 38 years in the Chemistry Department. Member of St. Jude Catholic Church. Tom was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman. He enjoyed family vacations at their summer home in Gordon, WI. Funeral services will be held from the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Tuesday, May 6, at 9:30 A.M. to St. Jude Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice will be appreciated. Visitation will be held Monday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M.
