Thomas R. Kilcoyne, age 52, entered into eternal life on Wednesday August 24, 2016 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, Ill. Quote: "It's hard to forget someone that gave you so much to remember." He will be remembered as a giving and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Tom lived his life to the fullest. He was fun-loving and fearless. Words cannot describe him, for all that knew him and loved him; because Tommy was truly "one of a kind". He was the kind of guy that could always make you laugh and never knowing what to expect next. Tom enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, good times, good friends and good music. He was a "Tough Guy" with a great Big Heart! He cherished the time spent creating those special moments in life with his wife Kim and son Keith; where with them he made memories that will last forever. He will be forever in their hearts. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was always ready to take on a new adventure. The crazier the better. He loved to cook, but not the clean-up and was always ready to help plan the next family gathering. He had a love for Hot Rod cars and was a devoted NASCAR fan (Regardless of Dale Jr. standings). He enjoyed gardening, camping, and had a unique style of fishing, which usually meant jumping into the water! He enjoyed movies and watching football, baseball and game shows on TV. Tom was a very hard worker and a proud member of Sheet Metal Workers Local #265, for many years. He was quite the handy man, always working on another remodeling project and always ready to lend a hand to those in need of a little help. A member of Belmont AC Club in Joliet for over 20 years, where he volunteered as Little League Baseball coach. His love for his family and friends was truly unconditional and without him we will never be the same but his memories will live on for eternity. For Heaven's Gates have opened and another Angel gets his wings. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kim; his loving son Keith; his parents, Jim and Susan Drwiega (mother), Thomas Kilcoyne Sr. (father), and Jim Moats (father-in-law and dear friend). Two brothers, Dennis (Diane) Kilcoyne and Jason Kilcoyne; two sisters, Michelle (nee Kilcoyne) Almazan and Christina (nee Streitmatter) Esparza; his step- brother and step-sisters, Joe Otte, Corinna Otte and Angie Pederson; brother- in-law of, Jayme (Rebecca) Moats and Brent (Karen) Moats; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Laverne (Schultz) Groskopf, Thomas and Helen (Pockrin) Kilcoyne and Joseph and Helen Drwiega; his mother–in-law, Diane Moats. The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to Northwestern Memorial Hospital MED-ICU for their kind and compassionate care. Family will receive friends for a Memorial Visitation and Service at Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home and Crematory, 2320 Black Road, Joliet, Il on Sunday, September 4, 2016 from 9:00 am – 12:00 Noon followed by services at 12:00 Noon.
