Of Joliet, formerly of Clinton, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 8, 2022. Age 91 years.

She was born May 6, 1931 in West Terre Haute, Indiana, a daughter of Harold E. Sims and Gertrude Snack Sims. She married James N. Creasey on February 18,1951. He preceded her in death on February 26, 2012.

Surviving are children James S. (Adele) Creasey of Colorado, Janet(Chuck) DiVerde of Wisconsin, Jayne(Marshall) Usher and Judy Allen all of Clinton, Jennifer(Darrell)Stephen of Frankfort, Jay(Kim) Creasey of Joliet and Jon(Tobie)Creasey of Bloomington. She is also survived by nephews David(Tonya) Griffith and Danny(Teri) Griffith of Colorado and a niece Lynda(Scott) McCullough of Indiana. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister Marylou Griffith, a nephew Larry Griffith and a grandson, Chris Allen.

Virginia was a 1949 graduate of Wiley High School and attended Indiana State University where she was a member of Gamma Gamma Sorority.  She retired from Bloomington School District 87 where she was employed as A library aide for 10 years.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Memorials to the Wapella Christian Church Library where she served as Librarian for 10 years, Home Sweet Home Ministeries in Bloomington, IL. or to Wounded Warriors Project.
