Wilma Jo Patsy (nee Cockburn) Spreitzer
Passed away peacefully on March 4, 2018 at St. James Hospital Hospice Unit in Chicago Heights, IL. She has been a resident at Woodside Extended Care in Chicago Heights, IL for several years.
She was born in Cisco, GA to George Lester and Roa Lee Cockburn on February 24, 1937. She was a lifelong member of Liberty Baptist Church in Tennga, GA since her early teenage years. She moved to Joliet, IL in the late 1950's. She enjoyed bowling, bingo and dancing. Her favorite pastime was traveling to Las Vegas, NV or to the riverboat casinos on the Mississippi River for entertainment shows and to play the slot machines.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Franklin Spreitzer; her parents, George Lester and Roa Lee; her brothers, Ted, Dee, Bucky, Chuck and Steve; her sisters, Virginia and Ruth.
She is survived by her loving brother and best friend, George William (Bill) Cockburn of Rutland, VT and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home and Crematory 2320 Black Road, Joliet on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm.
All family and friends are asked to meet at Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 11:00 am for services and then she will be laid to rest next to her faithful and devoted husband.
