Of Joliet, at rest on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Lakewood Nursing and Rehab Center in Plainfield. Age 91 years.
Survived by three sons Joseph F. (Connie) Bersano, Mark Bersano and Robert J. (Barbara) Bersano, Sr., A daughter Mary Jo Bowden (Andy Horbin). Four grandchildren Craig Bowden, Robert Bersano, Jr., Lacey (Robert) Granko and Jason (Tara) Bersano. Four great-grandchildren Fiona Granko, Abigail, Ben, and Zoe Bersano. Her sister Marie Moroz, close friend Rick Vercellotti and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband Joseph B. Bersano (1976), a grandson Dustin Bersano. Two brothers Louis (Eleanore) Allocco, and James (Catherine) Allocco. A sister Florence (Peter) Fazio. Her son-in-law Steven Bowden and brother-in-law John Moroz.
Yolanda was born January 20, 1924, attended Joliet Township High School and was a lifelong Joliet resident. Member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and UNICO. She was well cared for by her friends at Lakewood Nursing and Rehab Center and The Joliet Area Community Hospice who affectionately knew her as 'YoYo.'
Funeral services will be held from the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, Friday, May 8 at 9:30 A.M. to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2:00 – 7:00 P.M. Memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice will be appreciated.
