Passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Good Samaritan Hospital, on Wednesday, April 18, 2007. Age 54.\r\nSurvived by his wife of 34 years Barbara (nee Thuot) Ziegner of Joliet and his daughter Kristin (Gordon Saylor Jr.) Ziegner. Three sisters Barbara Ziegner of Frankfurt, Germany, Petra (Jerry) Palmer and Lynda (Pat) Cleary. His companion and buddy Kasey. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive and a step-mother Ruth Ziegner.\r\nPreceded in death by his parents Helmut and Ingebrog Ziegner.\r\nOwner and operator of Custom Wood and Laminate in Joliet. Retired Lieutenant with the East Joliet Volunteer Fire Department and Fermilab Fire Department in Batavia. A trustee with the Ingalls Park A.C and a member of the Joliet Community Swim Association the "Friends of Swimming". He enjoyed golfing, traveling, was an avid camper with the love of outdoor cooking.
